KANOPOLIS
William C. “Bill” Spellman, 73, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026 in Manhattan, KS. He was born October 27, 1952 in Holdrege, NE to C. Gordon and Doris J. (Alexander) Spellman. Bill married Diane Grady in Dodge City, KS on March 25, 1978. He was a medical lab technician working in the Kinsley, Ellsworth, Pratt, and Salina communities. While working in Kinsley and Ellsworth, Bill also served as an EMT. He was a volunteer for the Kanopolis Fire Department and member of the Ellsworth County Sportsman Club. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. A passion that he shared with his family.
Bill is survived by his wife Diane of Kanopolis; daughter Renee Spellman of Junction City, KS; grandchildren, Nicholas Spellman of Manhattan, KS and Brenlyn Spellman of Junction City; sister Linda Kay Hilyard (Gary) of Holdrege; nephew Todd Hilyard (Brandi) of Holdrege; niece Ann Hilyard of Kearney, NE along with several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Jennifer Spellman; and sister Joyce Razey.
Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m., Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Parsons Funeral Home of Ellsworth with family present to greet visitors from 4-6 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 8, 2026 at Parsons Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service.
