Violet H. (Corwin) Herring

  Violet H. Herring, 91, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023 in Moundridge, KS. She was born July 1, 1932 in Russell County, KS to Albert and Christina (Richter) Corwin. Violet married Merle Herring on December 3, 1952 in Russell, KS. She was a sales clerk at Duckwall’s and custodian and kitchen help at the Lucas-Luray high school.

  Violet is survived by her sons, Robert Herring (Julie) of Ft. Worth, TX and Lyle Herring (Donna) of Bennington, KS; daughter, Linda Herring of McPhersons, KS; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merle; daughter, Lethea Nelson; grandson, Rusty Walker; brothers, Albert “Bud”, Richard, Chet, Donald, and Clarence Corwin; and sisters, Amy Thacker, Ruby Thacker, Louise Elliott, and Norma Lee Corwin.

  Visitation 8:30-9:30 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.

  Graveside service: 10:00 a.m., July 20, 2023 at Kanopolis Cemetery. Refreshments will be served at the Kanopolis Library community room following the service.
