Patricia (Wanek) Rippens

SCOTTSDALE, AZ

  Patricia “Pat” Rippens passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer in the early morning hours of April 4, 2020 at her home in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was born on September 19, 1939 in the family home in Ellsworth, Kansas, the ninth and last child born to James and Stella Wanek. Pat graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1957 and later moved with her sister Carrol to California where she met her future husband Paul Rippens. They were married on February 3, 1964 in Pasadena, California.

  Pat is survived by her husband of 56 years Paul Rippens of Scottsdale, daughter Pamela Rippens of Scottsdale, and son Paul Martin Rippens of Bristol, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and six sisters.

  As she requested, she was cremated and her ashes will be placed between the graves of her mother and father in Ellsworth Cemetery. A graveside memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024 at which time her ashes along with the ashes of her last remaining sister, Carrol Hochman who passed away on May 30, 2024, will be interred at the cemetery.
