ELLSWORTH
Lorene Ann Barta, 93, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023 in Ellsworth. She was born April 29, 1929 in Ellsworth County to John A. and Emma (Kyler) Svoboda. She was a lifetime resident of Ellsworth County working for over 30 years at Ellsworth Memorial Hospital as a secretary in admissions. She married Kenneth Ray Barta in Ellsworth on October 14, 1947. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and the church’s Altar Society, as well as the Ellsworth VFW Post 6485 Auxiliary and many card clubs.
Lorene is survived by her son Gary Barta of Ellsworth; daughter Cathy Soukup (Jerry) of Ellsworth; daughter-in-law Ellen Fulton Barta of Virginia Beach, VA; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth; son Larry Barta; grandsons, Matthew and Ty Lawrence Barta; and sister Velma Paull.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
