Judith "Judy" Ann (Mehl) Siemsen

HOLYROOD

  Judith Ann “Judy” Siemsen, 79, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024 in Great Bend, KS. She was born March 27, 1945 in Wichita, KS. On November 18, 1946, she was adopted by Leo and Renata (Schulz) Mehl. Judy married Robert Siemsen on October 28, 1979 in Holyrood, KS. The couple settled in the area, and Judy became a farmwife and helped raise cattle. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Holyrood.

  Judy is survived by her daughter Sheila Meyer (Scott) of Burrton, KS; daughter Sheri Yager (Brian) of Great Bend, KS; son Steve Siemsen (Sherry) of Holyrood; daughter Julie Nienke (Bob) of Lorraine, KS; 22 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren; brother James Mehl of Conway Springs, KS; and son-in-law Mike Volavka of Caldwell, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert and daughter Debbie Volavka.

  Visitation: 1-8 p.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Parsons Funeral Home of Ellsworth with family present 6-8 p.m.

  Funeral service: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 11 2024 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Holyrood with burial following at the church cemetery.
