Juanita Ruth (Ramsey) Poutre

  Juanita R. Poutre, 89, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023 in Ellsworth, KS. She was born October 17, 1933 in Barton County, KS to Charles and Mary (Wendtlandt) Ramsey. She married William Poutre on October 25, 1951 in Claflin, KS. Juanita worked as the city clerk of Claflin and for the Elkan wiring plant in Ellsworth. Later she worked for many years as a cashier at Boogaart’s and IGA grocery in Ellsworth. She was also a member of the Ellsworth VFW Auxiliary.

  Juanita is survived by her daughters, Aileen Rick (Gary) of Kanopolis and Janice Lockhart (Jerry) of Lincoln County, KS; grandchildren, Terisa Rick, Kristin Ray, and Nichole Brady (Tyson); great grandchildren, Jason Ray (Sadie), Tiffany Ray, and Korbin Brady; great-great grandchildren, Clay, Paige, JJ, and Jackson; and siblings, Lois Murphy and Dwayne Ramsey (Sylvia). She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Virgil, Harvey, and Leroy; and baby sister, Marilyn.

  Visitation: 1-8 p.m., Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth. Family will be present 6-8 p.m.

  Funeral service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2023 at Parsons Funeral Home with burial following at the Claflin Cemetery.
