Joyce Ann Janssen Cotton, 82, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025 in Broken Arrow, OK. She was born June 18, 1943 in Ellsworth, KS to Herschel “Pete” Janssen and Marian Lucille (Craig) Janssen. Joyce grew up in the Lorraine, KS area, graduating from Lorraine High School and attending Lorraine Baptist Church. Joyce enjoyed a management and sales career in the jewelry business both in New Orleans, LA and Denver, CO for 38 years. Joyce took joy in spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and spending time in the Colorado mountains, snow skiing and antiques.
Joyce is survived by her son Douglas D. Boeken (Brenda Phillips) of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Jessica Brownlee of Littleton, CO, Barrett Brownlee of Stillwater, OK, Hunter Boeken (Lindsey) of Lewisville, TX, and Riley Lee (Jeffrey) of The Village, OK; great grandchildren, Parker and Harper Boeken; and sister Arva Jo Walker of Canton, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter Tamra Boeken; daughter Stephanie Brownlee; grandchildren, Bryce and Parker Boeken; and siblings, Arlo, Rachel, and Richard Janssen.
Memorial service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Parsons Funeral Home with inurnment following at Lorraine Baptist Cemetery.
