  Joe Rodriguez, Jr., 88, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026, surrounded by family, in Hutchinson, KS. He was born March 20, 1937 in Ellsworth, KS to Joe and Jessie (Uribe) Rodriguez. Joe served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960. He married Mary C. Martinez in Ellsworth in 1967. Joe worked for Independent Salt Company in Kanopolis, KS as a sacker and forklift operator for 32 years before retiring and going to work for Homolka Grain in Ellsworth. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church of Ellsworth.

  Joe is survived by his daughters, Linda Cuellar (Abel) and Gina Fernandez (Francisco) both of Hutchinson; son Marty Rodriguez of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Maricela, Emilio and Maria Fernandez (Bryant LaMunyon), Paul Cuellar (Alicia) and Anjelica Cuellar (Brittany), Mardie Rodriguez, Zoie Jordan, and Zach Bosquez-Rodriguez (Amanda); great grandchildren, Gianna, Janessa, Abel Cruz, Eli, Abel, Alex, Jace, and Taitin; and siblings, Lupe Lutz, Francis Jacobo, and Leon Rodriguez. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary; son Jason; and siblings, Marc, Angel, John, Rudy, and Danny Rodriguez, Mary Lou Botello, and Sipriana Bussing.

  All services will take place Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Ellsworth. Visitation will take place 9:30-10:30 a.m. with a rosary service beginning at 10:30 a.m., then a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial at Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery.
