ELLSWORTH
On May 9, 2026, Jane Irene Kohls gave her final earthly hugs and eloped to join her lifelong love Delmar, beloved mother and father Cecil and Mildred, and Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ in her heavenly home.
Born on December 23, 1945, Jane was a passionate learner who saw each imperfection as an opportunity to craft a better way and an avid reader who would later instill that love into her children. Jane married Delmar Kohls on April 3, 1965, and they began a marriage that spanned more than 50 years, spent in Ellsworth, where she was active in Immanuel Lutheran Church, The Progressive Study Club, and the lives of her three children - Kimberly Warren (James Dee), Jason Kohls (Heidi), and Darrel Kohls (Jana) - as well as her grandchildren James Dakota, Kaylee, Emily, Dylan, Tyler, Chance, Gabe, and Izabel.
A sewer of snowflakes, a crocheter of angels, a seamstress of costumes, and a crafter of all things creative, Jane’s handiwork can be found throughout churches, living rooms, photo albums, and memories of her family and friends. In her later years, Friday nights would often find her at high school football games - live or on multiple computer screens surrounding her chair, while days would find her stationed in the clubhouse of Ellsworth Golf Course.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Mildred Grubb, brother Eldon Holle, and husband Delmar. She is survived by her sister Virginia Dolezal, three children, eight grandchildren, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Parsons Funeral Home of Ellsworth with family present to greet visitors from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with burial following at the Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery.
