Georgia Frances (Adamek) Keaton

MIDLAND, TX

  Georgia Frances Keaton, 90 years old of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 29, 2026. She was born August 4, 1935 to Frances and George Adamek in Ellsworth, Kansas.

  After graduating from Ellsworth High School, Georgia attended Newman Hospital School of Nursing in Emporia, Kansas graduating in September 1956 as a Registered Nurse and graduated from the College of Emporia with a B.A. Teaching certification Secondary Education in biology. She was a member of the Red Cross teaching mother-baby care classes, American Nurses Association and Beta Sigma Phi.

  She married William L. “Bill” Keaton in 1959 moving to Denver, Colorado and then to Midland in 1965. From Midland, Bill and she moved to Dhahran Saudia Arabia in 1971. Returning to the states to live in Garland, Texas, Slidell, Louisiana, Sugar Land, Texas and returning to live in Midland, Texas in 1974 and again in 1989.

  Georgia continued to work as an RN at Presbyterian Hospital, Colorado General, and Dr. T. Okagawa, MD in Denver. She worked at Parkview Hospital and Midland Memorial in Midland and Richmond Hospital in Richmond, Texas. At MMH she was an oncology nurse for 17 years and recovery room nurse for 5 years.

  Georgia touched many lives through her wonderful patient care. She enjoyed nursing and was always willing to teach and train new nursing students. She loved reading, sewing and crocheting.

  Georgia is survived by her daughter Karen and her husband Carmine Scarcelli; grandchildren Saxon and Sevrin; and great grandson Skye.

  Viewing on Thursday February 5, 2026, Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, Kansas, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

  Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 5 at Parsons Funeral Home with burial following at Ellsworth Cemetery.

  The family would like to express their gratitude towards Hospice of Midland the wonderful staff at Scharbauer Cottage at Manor Park.
