Elizabeth “Betty” T. Janousek, 94, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020 in Ellsworth. She was born January 28, 1926 in Lincoln County to Joseph and Anna (Dolezal) Vasko.

Betty married Robert “Bob” J. Janousek on September 9, 1952 in Lyons, KS. The couple were longtime residents of Ellsworth County where Bob farmed and Betty was a farmwife and homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ellsworth and the church’s Presbyterian Women group. She was also an active member of EHU and the Ellsworth Senior Center.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Jolyne (Kevin) Alexander of Iola, KS; son, Earl “Eric” Vaughan of Sarasota, FL; daughter, Peggy (David) Hand of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Amy, Christy, Sarah, Jason, Lynsey, Tyler, Scott, Joey, and Anna; and great grandchildren, Cole, Jayce, Kyler, Tyler, Aubrey, Alden, and Audrey. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Janousek; son, Jack Janousek; and siblings, Miles Vasko, Cecilia Barta, Verna Mattas, Irene Vasko, and Leo Vasko.

Visitation: 1-8 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2020 at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.

A private family burial will take place in Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery.

Memorial service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2020 at First Presbyterian Church, Ellsworth. The service will take place in the church parking lot, north and east of the church. Please bring a lawn chair. Masks are recommended. A luncheon will be served following the service. Family will be present for fellowship following the service.
