ASHLAND, KS
Donna Kay Siemsen, 86, passed away April 21, 2026, in Ashland, Kansas. Born August 24, 1939, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, Donna lived a life defined by kindness, responsibility, and a deep love for animals and the outdoors.
She graduated from Hays High School in 1958 and spent 15 years as an aide at Hodgeman County Health Center caring for others. Donna married Bruce Siemsen on March 1, 1986. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, the Red Hats of Holyrood, the Sorosis Club of Colby, the Jetmore Saddle Club, served as a leader of the Girl Scouts, and a member of Theta Pi sorority in Jetmore.
Donna loved the outdoors and traveling with her husband Bruce. She had a lifelong love of horses, which will live on through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren through her inspiration and memory.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Elsie Fisher Millen; her husband, Bruce; her son, Kevin; her brother, Harold “Bud”; her sister, Virginia “Jenny”; and her Aunt Irene Colyer.
She is survived by her children and stepchildren: Kenny Schauvliege (Leslie), Larry Schauvliege (Julie), LeeAllen Schauvliege (Bobbie), Cary Siemsen (Ann), Sherri Musselman (Jon), and Bruce G. Siemsen; as well as 14 grandchildren, 14 great‑grandchildren, and one great‑great‑grandchild.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 27, 2026 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Holyrood. Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the service. Her inurnment will take place at a later date, privately, according to her wishes.
