Charlie Thrush Obituary

Charlie E. Thrush (Sgt. Charlie, 57) tragically passed away on October 5, 2020 in rural Lincoln County. He was a patriotic man that served 22 years in the Army. Our country/military meant the world to him. He always said that serving in the Army meant duty and honor for him, and he would go back in a heartbeat if he was needed.

Charlie lived a happy, ornery and content life on the farm with his family. His family and the animals meant the world to him. He was a man that loved deeply and cherished his abundance of family and friends. Charlie had a heart of gold and would try to help anyone no matter what, whenever he could. Helping farmers out anytime he was needed was an enjoyment of his as well. He definitely was a people person. Charlie attended Bethany Church in Hunter, KS. He would not want all of us to be sad during this time but remember the good times and move on.

Charlie was born July 12, 1963 in Indianapolis, IN to Cloyce Everette Thrush and Candis Elizabeth (Herald) Thrush. He then lived in Louisville, KY with his parents before moving to Solomon, KS with his mom. He married Doris Kottman on March 28, 2008 in Junction City, KS.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Doris Thrush, daughter's Harley (10) and Allie (8) Thrush of Ellsworth; children, Jinell (Michael) Morris, Netiasha (Andrew) Kanada, Tesia (Michael) Thrush, Josh Thrush, and Chris Thrush; grandchildren, Xander, Adyn, and Chloy Morris, Jared Kanada, Justyce and Azryel Mills, Tristin Odell, and Isabella, Temperance, and Amethyst Thrush; brothers, Carl (Mary), Clyde (K.C.), and Cecil Thrush; sister, Jessica (Frank) Donnelly; parents-in-law, Carol and Lloyd Kottman; brother-in-law, Daniel Kottman; and sister-in-law, Shelly (Joe) Maze. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cloyce Thrush and Candis Hearld; grandparents; nephew, Chad Thrush; brother, Cloyce E. Thrush, Jr.; and granddaughter, Serenity Mills. Services are pending. Memorial contributions can be made to the Charlie Thrush Memorial Fund, c/o, Parsons Funeral Home, PO Box 45, Ellsworth, KS 67439. parsonsfh.com
