ELLSWORTH
Carolyn Kohls, 80, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021, surrounded by family, at her home in Ellsworth, KS. She was born July 22, 1941, in Ogden, UT to Henry and Elvera (Lange) Dockter. Carolyn shared her birthdate with her future husband, Kenneth Kohls. They married on August 8, 1965, in Rupert, ID.
Carolyn was a longtime resident of Ellsworth, KS where she was the secretary, treasurer, and gopher for Kohls Construction. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was part of the Altar Guild, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school and catechism.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Kenneth of Ellsworth; son, Kevin Kohls of Lawrence; daughter, Cindy Holecek (Darin) of Ellsworth; and grandchildren, Braden, Taylor, and Avery Holecek. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Donna Beall and Betty Maier.
Visitation: 1-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2021, with family present 6-8 p.m., at Parsons Funeral Home in Ellsworth.
Funeral service: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north Ellsworth County with burial following in the church cemetery.
