Bernadine M. (Macek) Bachman

ELLSWORTH

  Bernadine M. Bachman, 88, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024 in Ellsworth, KS. She was born September 7, 1935 in Wilson, KS to Joseph and Lydia (Pertl) Macek. She was a graduate of Ellsworth High School and Kansas State University, receiving her bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1957. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. After marrying Gail E. Bachman in Wilson, KS in 1961, the couple resided for a short time in Iowa before settling near Derby, KS and Mulvane, KS for many years. Bernadine worked as an accountant for various business and organizations in the area until the birth of their son. Bernie never gave up her passion of collecting antiques and passionately rooting for her Wildcats. After Gail’s passing, Bernadine moved back to the Ellsworth, KS area where she was a member and participant in numerous local organizations including the hospital auxiliary, the local K-State Catbackers club, St. Bernard Catholic Church, and most recently attended Wolf Creek Reformed Fellowship with her family that she so dearly loved.

  Bernadine is survived by her son Byron Bachman (Nicole) of rural Wilson; grandchildren, Kaleb (McKolle), Keilah, Keziah, Kenan, Kyliah, Kaser, Ezekiel, and Elijah Bachman; brother-in-law Larry Bachman (Cooky) of Huntsville, AL; and sister-in-law Alice Malir of rural Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gail; and siblings, Raymond, Joseph, Leonard, and Adeline Macek.

  Visitation: noon-2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Parsons Funeral Home of Ellsworth.

Funeral service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Parsons Funeral Home with burial following at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery in Wilson.
