KANOPOLIS

  Aaron S. Burwell, 57, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in Wichita, KS. He was born December 2, 1968 in Salina, KS to John and Patricia (Pruner) Burwell. Aaron was a longtime resident of Kanopolis, KS where he worked many jobs including Independent Salt Co., Hi-Plains Sand, and most recently for the city of Kanopolis.

  Aaron is survived by his daughter Jessica Stroede (Nathan Warner) of Great Bend, KS and her children Aryanna and Norah; daughter Sara McCurry (Nolan) of Hoisington, KS; son Sam Burwell of Great Bend; mother Patricia McElroy of Portland, OR; siblings, John “Jack” Burwell (Tracy) of Missoula, MT, Wendy Stroede (Marc) of Kanopolis, Heidi Beal (John) of Florence, KS, and Luke Burwell of Portland, OR; as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

  A celebration of Aaron’s life will take place at 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2025 at the Kanopolis Community Center (former American Legion).
